Bleib, ach bleibe unser Licht,
Weil die Finsternis einbricht. |

Highly-praised Son of God,
let it be not displeasing to You,
that we now, before Your throne,
lay down a petition:
remain, ah, remain our Light,
because the darkness breaks forth. |
