Heinrich Schütz: "Es ist erschienen," SWV 371 - Geistliche Chormusik
"Es ist erschienen" is the true initial statement of the collection. "Erschienen," appearance and relevation, is caught by the transparent textures of this motet. No spiritual message is abstract for Schütz, and this setting flows effortlessly, one line logically leading to the nexts, until the energy is released in one final "good works" melisma.
