James Primosch: "From Spiralling Ecstatically"
James Primosch is in the composition faculty at Penn. He has won the Lieberson
and Ives prizes from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. His works
have been performed by the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, the Carani Quartet,
Speculum Musicae, Dawn Upshaw, and the Lydian String Quartet. Emmanuel
Music has performed six of his motets, several of which were written for,
and premiered by, the ensemble. Today’s motet is set to an evocative poem
by e.e.cummings.
